At the stove: Catalin Ghinea
Catalin Ghinea grew up in Bucharest and moved to London when he was nineteen.
He gradually worked his way up through pubs and breakfast kitchens towards what he truly wanted: Michelin-starred cuisine. His path led him to Bibendum with Claude Bosi and to Chiltern Firehouse with Nuno Mendes, then across the Atlantic to Eleven Madison Park under Daniel Humm. To this day, he considers it the highlight of his career.
Berlin has been his home for almost nine years, including a stint at the Layla hotel. It’s a city he no longer wants to leave.
At FLANEUR, he brings his international experience to a place that remains deeply Berlin: relaxed, welcoming, with a touch of understatement. Not a cuisine that puts on a show of tradition. A cuisine that savors the moment.
